Valerie Blue is a Licensed Master’s Level Psychologist (LMLP) who enjoys working with adults (18+). Valerie graduated from University of Saint Mary with a master's degree in counseling psychology. Since earning her degree, Valerie has worked with diverse populations in a variety of mental health settings. Prior to joining Responsive Centers, Valerie was the Clinical Program Manager for an outpatient adolescent treatment facility in Johnson County. She has provided individual and group therapy to patients struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, and personality disorders in an acute-care behavioral health hospital. Additionally, Valerie has experience administering psychological and behavioral assessments as well as providing services to court-mandated clients. Valerie believes life is an odyssey—filled with ups, downs, joy, and purpose. She understands that everyone’s story is different and works to meet each person where they are in the therapeutic process. She uses a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based techniques in therapy, and believes a therapeutic alliance that starts with an open mind, an open heart, and mutual trust is just as important as the techniques.
