Gary received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Kansas, and has been in practice in the Kansas City area since 1975. During his graduate studies, Gary received his clinical training at Bert Nash Mental Health Center in Lawrence, Kansas, and at Western Missouri Mental Health Center in Kansas City, Missouri. 

Upon his graduation, Gary provided therapy for adolescents, adults, couples and families at a local Community Mental Health Center. He subsequently was the Outpatient Clinical Supervisor at another Community Mental Health Center. 

Since 1989, Gary has maintained a private practice, and joined Responsive Centers in 2002. Gary provides outpatient therapy to pre-adolescents, adolescents and adults. He has extensive post-graduate training in both marital and family therapy. In addition to his work with couples and families, Gary provides therapy to individuals regarding anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, behavior and attention disorders, life transitions and domestic violence. 

Gary is married with two adult children.
