Andrea McMahon, LCPC, AT

Andrea McMahon is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who began her journey at Emporia State University, obtaining a master’s in art therapy in 2010 and then moving on to Avila University in 2014 to achieve her Counseling degree. Andrea has worked in the psychiatric field for the last fifteen years in multiple capacities, seeing a multitude of psychiatric disorders on an inpatient and outpatient basis, and learning and growing as a professional and a human being.

She is licensed in both Kansas and Missouri to accommodate local needs. Andrea loves working with adults, as well as children ages 12 and older. With a daughter on the spectrum, she knows firsthand how the process of navigating diagnosis and treatment of autism can be a difficult one, and she is happy to help guide others through it. Modalities practiced in therapy with Andrea include neurodivergent affirming, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), internal family systems (IFS), motivational interviewing (MI), existentialism, and art therapy.
