Ayat Youssef, BS

Ayat Youssef is a Master’s Student of Counseling Psychology at Avila University of Kansas City. She is currently offering supervised, pro bono sessions under Lori Bell, LSCSW. Ayat uses a person-centered approach to provide evidence-based services to a diverse range of adults and youth with a mission to make mental health care more accessible.

Stricken by war at a young age made her fundamentally interested in the underpinnings of the human condition and purpose. Discovering that struggle is embedded in life itself, she recognized that her life is the perfect foundation to serve as a compassionate resource to alleviate human suffering of others.

By prizing the individual she works with, she hopes for them to leave the therapeutic space with a bag of gems of actionable, vivid, & simple tools that helps them feel more allied with their life experiences outside.

She is eager to learn, unlearn and relearn with her clients by discovering together what it’s like to be human and to create their unique paths to inner peace and healing.

Hoping to further her education after completing the program, Ayat intends to do more rewarding work as an Art Therapist.

When she is not in the therapy room or studying, you’ll likely find her working on her family’s farm, drawing in her sketchbook, or searching for life’s finest cup of coffee.
