Tanya is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker. She received her Masterís of Social Work degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas in 1997. She worked at the Wyandot Center for Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. in Kansas City, Kansas for seven years, providing direct service to individuals and families as well as managing Crisis Services. Since 2007, Tanya has been the Clinical Supervisor of Crisis Services with a Community Mental Health Center. She is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
Tanya has been providing therapy and assessment services to individuals of all ages since receiving her MSW. She provides outpatient and crisis therapy services to individuals and families, addressing areas ranging from mood disorders, depression, anxiety, behavior problems, anger management, trauma, and family/couple issues. Tanya enjoys working with people of all ages, but particularly enjoys working with adolescents, families, and couples. She also has extensive experience in crisis assessments and coordinating with community partners when someone is experiencing a mental health emergency. She has provided several trainings on varying mental health issues for the community, including Johnson County first responder agencies and is a Mental Health First Aid instructor. Tanya joined Responsive Centers in 2010.
