Leslie is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker in the state of Kansas. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Kansas State University in 1980 and her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Kansas in 1985, practicing in the Kansas City area for almost 30 years. Leslie is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Much of Leslie’s training has been under a Bowen Family Systems framework. She is also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and has participated in all aspects of this treatment model. With an emphasis primarily on adolescents and adults, Leslie has assisted individuals, couples and families to deal with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, work-life balance challenges and loss/grief.
In addition to conducting therapy in a variety of outpatient situations, Leslie has also served as team leader for a community mental health center’s crisis team and is well versed in accessing community resources to guide people with more severe mental health issues who are in psychiatric crises. She has done many educational presentations on mental health topics in the community.
Leslie is very active and an avid yoga student. She also enjoys movies, music, reading and spending time with family.
