Jennifer is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) with over 23 years of experience providing mental health therapy. She is passionate about working with the young adult/adult population, counseling individuals and couples.
Jennifer’s interests and specialties include: grief and loss, women’s issues (including postpartum distress), life challenges and transitions, depression, anxiety, stress management, premarital counseling, relationship issues, self-care for parents of children with special needs, coping with issues related to parenting a preemie, goal setting and achievement, and adult ADHD testing. Jennifer likes to use an integrative approach to therapy, tailored to meet the needs of each client. In addition to several traditional therapy approaches, she is trained in EMDR.
Jennifer graduated in 1991 with her Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University of Chicago, and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas. She has worked in hospital and community counseling settings in Chicago and Kansas, taught for an online university, and was the Director of Counseling Services at a local university. Jennifer’s experience includes individual, couples, and family therapy. She has conducted workshops on stress management, coping with financial strain, anger management for children, parenting skills, and has facilitated support and psycho-educational groups for women. Jennifer opened her private practice in 1993; since 2002, professionally, it has been her sole focus.
Jennifer is married and is raising two daughters.
