Deanna is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist. She received her Masterís in Clinical Psychology from Pittsburg State University and her Masterís in Social Work from the University of Kansas. Prior to joining Responsive Centers in January 2004, she worked for nine years in an area Community Mental Health Center, with six of them as the Director of Children and Family Services.
Deanna enjoys working with people of all ages, and has significant experience with children, adolescents, and families. She is trained in the areas of behavior disorders, mood disorders, childhood mood disorders, family issues (divorce, parenting, and discipline), abuse/trauma, anxiety/OCD, ADHD and pervasive developmental disorders. In the past she created and facilitated an educational program about parenting during and after divorce entitled PROUD (Parent Responsibilities of Understanding Divorce). Her practice is primarily therapy with individuals and their families.
